Matthew 15:4

"For God commanded, saying "Honor your father and your mother." (NKV)

In this country we Honor our parents. We set aside one day of the year to remember all of their sacrifices, that made for home. On Mothers day, also on Fathers day, our thoughts are on those that are alive and those that have gone on. With many memoires of the past, some pleasant , some not so pleasant. With that thought in mind, I remind you of the verse above. For God commanded. When God makes a command, it is to be obeyed with out question. The word Honor means to (esteem; respect; or to give special recognition . Our Fathers and Mothers have earned the Honor that should be given to them. They have provided the examples that have been passed down from generation to generation. Each generation wants to their children to live and have more than they had. Yes they have made some bad decisions. But they have also learned from those mistakes. They have paved the way for our freedoms. From the civil rights marches to the jungles of foreign  lands. Our Mom's and Dads have send their sons and daughters away with prayers and hopes that they would return home safe. Those sons and daughters came home, and they became Mothers and Fathers. So the cycle continues. If your Mother or Father is alive, then when the day comes to honor them. Do it the very best that you can. For what You sow so shall you reap. For the Christian it is nothing hard for us to do. For the love of God is in our hearts for our parents. Obeying this verse and others like it. Causes us no pain or problem. We recognize the plan of God; also the authority that God has given to our parents to lead and train the children in the ways of the Lord. In a world full of darkness. The only light that can be seen is that light of our forefathers and our living parents.  Looking at their history; we can learn and make the next generation better. So put away the old hurts and bad decisions that have been made. Who knows what you may have done; if you where in their shoes. Give them the respect and honor that they have earned. May God bless and keep our Mothers and Fathers in His care. Let every Son and every Daughter, Honor their  Mother on Mother's Day, also when Fathers Day arrives the same Honor. They Deserve that and more.

God  bless each one of you!!
